The name of Bonifati, according to tradition derives from the Castle Fortress "Bonifati Castle" which was the old feud of Tarsia (1120-1270) and Palmieri.
Remarkable and of great artistic and architectural heritage and monumental religious Bonifati.
Remember: the Castle Bonifati, called "The Fort" was enhanced by the Normans to defend the territory, given the extraordinary natural position as a military and control.
It was destroyed to prevent Angevins was used by the Aragonese, then led by Alfonso D'Aragona.
Among the churches to remember include: Calvary Church (XVI century), the Convent of San Francesco di Paola, Shrine of the Virgin Mary and the Church of SS. Annunziata.
