Bosa (OR)

Sardinia (Italy)

Dominated by the castle of Malaspina, Bosa lies with its pastel colored houses on the right bank of the river Temo, the only waterway of Sardinia, a few kilometers upstream of the mouth.
The city's origins date back to the Phoenicians, although the center was further back on the left bank.
In medieval times, to escape the pirate raids, the town moved to the hills of Serravalle seeking the protection of Malaspina.
Declared by the Spanish royal city, Bosa has always maintained close contacts with the Iberian Peninsula.
Its charm is undeniable, with the buildings of Sas Conzas that are reflected in the calm waters of the river and the district of Sa Costa all streets and staircases where a few women sitting in the doorway to work the filet.
The sea was declared by environmental groups among the cleanest in Italy.
The Cathedral, via De Gasperi. Dedicated to the Immaculate, was renovated in the late nineteenth century Baroque in Piedmont which retains all its magnificence. Inside the polychrome statue of the Madonna and Child by Catalan school, dating back to the sixteenth century. For two sides of the marble lions that kill the dragons. The side altars are decorated with polychrome marbles. Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the main street of Bosa, the fund paved with stone, runs parallel to river. On it face stately palaces and shops of goldsmiths who work the gold filigree and coral.
Bosa Marina, a little more than two kilometers from downtown, has a beautiful sheltered beach with dark sand.
Red is the rocky island connected to the mainland by a long pier protection.
In Aragon Tower, opened in July and August, are set up temporary exhibitions.
The coast between Bosa and Alghero is one of the most spectacular of Sardinia.
Interesting excursion is to the green train from Bosa Marina Macomer along the beach of Pedras Nieddas (Black Stones) before going up the valley of the Rio Abba Mala to Modolo, and Tresnuraghes Sindia.
Getting there: Arriving at the airport in Alghero, simply follow the signs to Bosa, reached by a road about 40 km with several bends.
Porto Torres, take the SS131 exit at junction Macomer-Bosa and take SS129bis to Bosa.
