An elegant promenade in front of the sandy coastline combines the plans and the Centre, the two nuclei that form the town of Celle Ligure, tourist resort and seven kilometers from Savona.
Plans are the most modern, home to hotels and major services, while the Centre is the oldest, developed in the Middle Ages in two rows of buildings on either side of the road.
The parish of St. Michael the Archangel in an elevated position, is a beautiful baroque church with a bell made from a tower.
Among the works stand out in a wooden crucifix of the sixteenth century, a triptych of Perin del Vaga (whose style is evident in the direct influence of Raphael) and, in the sacristy, one of the oldest existing fund processional, 1481.
Beside the church stands the sixteenth-century oratory covered with a wooden Maragliano St. Michael the Archangel.
Our Lady of Consolation is the seventeenth-century remaking of the ancient shrine of Our Lady of the Grotto.
The history of Celle is tied at the end of the fourteenth century to that of Genoa, after passing through various rulers: the Republic recognized the village's statute in 1414, the same year when in town Pecorile born Francesco della Rovere (still see her birthplace), which in 1471 became Pope with the name of Sixtus IV.
We are on the hills, not far from the village Bottini with its park of old trees, in places Natta find the cork oak.
Higher still, you get to Cassis, a good panoramic view where you will find an interesting home fortress and a windmill.
From the vineyards produce wines of the hills and Lumassina Rollo.
