It is the highest town in Liguria: the town lies at 1118 meters, the upper Val Trebbia.
The "band" is a typical Ligurian terraces, here alternate with pastures and forests of beech and chestnut trees, rising from 887 meters and 907 of Cassingheno Carpeneto towards the peaks of Carmo and Antola; fraction range is also Pass the Roman Empire, located at 1407 meters on the watershed between the two peaks.
Just below the pass is Casa del Romano station for hikers.
Park Antola and Alta Via dei Monti Ligurian offer trips in this area of great interest to the significant environmental values. From the House of Romano is a path to Mount Antola that grows on the ridge, with views of the lake and Val Brugneto Borbera in May along this path we are witnessing the blossoming of daffodils.
The Church of Saint William is a band of 1100, among the oldest in the area, San Michele Arcangelo in Carpeneto is instead of 1200.
Band was part of Feudi Imperiali and further possessions of several families, from Malaspina to the Doria through the Fieschi.

During the last war was the site of a partisan command here arose the brigades "Bisagno" and "Write".
Farmers packaged baskets, covers for bottles and other objects of daily use with the branches of the willow, a tradition that is a bit 'lost.
E 'rather recent and very much alive the tradition of "Pai", apple pie derived from the' apple pie American, brought here by some emigrants returned to their country of origin.
Many Fasciotti also argue that their country is the true birthplace of ravioli: open question, but at least it is certain that ravioli Band are among the best in the region.
