A quiet bay between high cliffs in the Gulf of Paradise Sori houses, old fishing village at the mouth of a valley surrounded by mountains like the Cornu (687 m) Beak (897 m) and Pozzuolo (794 m).
Already inhabited by Ligurian (remains of a Teriasca Castellari, Canepa and St Bartholomew), Sori developed in Roman times, when the Via Aemilia Scauri across the borough.
The track fell into disuse in mediaeval times as too close to the coast and exposed to attacks of the Saracens, in the ninth century were the bishops of Milan to revitalize the country before the whole area of influence would end in Genoa.
Flourished as trade and maritime activity, but did not stop the danger of invasion: the rich suburb, and exposed no real fortifications did much to throat pirates in 1584, strong twenty-two galleys, the sacked evading patrols fleet Andrea Doria.
On the hills there is a tower.
Not far, the parish church of St. Apollinaris, enchanting architectural value for both (a national monument) and for the panoramic views of the site.
In the village are the Renaissance chapel of St. Erasmus (known for a charming wooden choir and the perfect acoustics) and the parish church of Santa Margherita, eighteenth-century expansion of an earlier Romanesque building.
Inland you can not miss to visit the water mill of Fulle, perfectly preserved and functional.
San Giacomo is a Pozzuolo Hospital del 1200.
During the excursions you notice the stone walls that bordered on cutellu ridge paths, such as that between Sant'Apollinare and Pieve Ligure.
Another route is Mulattea, loop route that begins and ends in Sori via Sant'Apollinare, St. Bartholomew Rupanego, Capreno, Sussisa, Canepa, through ancient paths and medieval bridges.
Sori is held every summer at a festival of traditional jazz, is now well known and extended to other locations in the Gulf.
