Ascoli Piceno provinceThe surface of the Province of Ascoli Piceno is slightly greater than 2,000 square kilometers. The area has a predominantly mountainous appearance, with its mountains Carrier, Sibilla Mountain of Flowers and characterizing the Adriatic coast in the Marche region. The group of the Sibyl, for some, takes its name from Sabellini or Sabelli that inhabit this land. A legend says that the Sibyl Apennines lived in the famous cave still exists between these mountains. Tronto River flows into the territory for a distance of 75 km. Gentle hills constitute the watershed of right and left of the Tronto river on which there are the towns of Castel di Lama, Colli del Tronto, Spinetoli, Monsampolo, Monteprandone, Appignano, Offida, Acquasanta Arquata. Important figures in art, literature, science, have honored the name: Cecco d'Ascoli, Ferdinand Cicconi, Giulio and Ignazio Cantalamessa et al. Land rich in traditions, sights, tastes and flavors.
