Wine Abruzzo

The traditional grape varieties of Abruzzo are the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo among whites, and the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from the Reds.
Besides them, most recently was made the recovery of minor varieties (Passerina, Pecorino,Cococciola).
The most important production areas are at the foot of the mountain ranges, like the valley of Pescara, between people and the capital, in the foothills of Teramo, Pescara and Chieti, the basin and that of Ofena Peligna.
The list of DOC wines in the region include the red Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (which also has the type Cerasuolo, pink), fragrant and dry taste and robust, the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, dry and delicate fragrance, and Controguerra, in its various versions of white and red, specific to a specific area of Teramo.
