Italian quality wines or V.Q.P.R.D.

VQPRD stands for quality wine produced in specified regions, expression with which it is certified that the wine that boasts the name of this quality is the result of collection and processing of grapes produced in a territory defined by the specification of the same wine .
The auditor's quality wines, in which part of the DOC and DOCG wines, offers at least two important guarantees: the certainty of good quality and origin in a predetermined area.

Wines D.O.C.

This acronym stands forDenomination of Origin Controlled: The product specification provides for the recognition of DOC: the exact geographical demarcation of the area of origin of harvesting grapes for wine production, grape varieties, soil type of cultivation the yield of grapes into wine (to avoid over-exploitation of the vine); production technologies and aging characteristics of the finished product (acidity, dry, minimum alcohol, organoleptic characteristics) any qualification of wine shipped.
Some wines DOC may return the label also additional indications such as:
- Classic for wines from more traditional (in the area defined by the specification);
- Reserve for some wines subjected to aging longer than normal;
- Superior for wines with better features (thanks to good weather conditions of the year has achieved a higher sugar concentration and a higher alcohol content).

Wines D.O.C.G.

This acronym stands for Denomination of Origin Controlled and Guaranteed and gives recognition to those wines with DOC that, in addition to special sensory qualities, have acquired a particular reputation. The specification for DOCG
DOCG is the highest qualification intended and, in addition to meeting all the parameters set by the regulations for the DOC, DOCG wines undergo a second examination by winemakers and Enotecnici during bottling (while the DOC inspections are carried out every 3 years).
After the test are released to the producer special seals watermark, printed by State Printing and issued by the Chamber of Commerce or by the Consortium to bottlers, limited in number according to the quantity of hectoliters product to be placed on each bottle.
In the case of liquor seals are affixed to the cap, so that it can be opened without damage, and then to break only when the uncorking.
In the case of wines, however, the seal is placed on the neck of the bottle.

Procedures for the Recognition of D.O.C. and D.O.C.G.

The Community and national legislation provide that, to take advantage of DOC wine produced, companies must submit a request to the Region of belonging to the chemical-physical and organoleptic investigations under EEC Regulation n.823/87; to request should be accompanied by a technical report outlining the natural factors (production area, type of soil, exposure and vine) and human factors (farming systems, pruning, vinification and aging) that characterize the wine.
The sensory and analytical tests must be performed for all batches of wine likely to become DOC and DOCG.
Consequently, a successful physical-chemical and organoleptic tests, is the prerequisite and required to qualify with Denomination of Origin Controlled or the Denomination of Origin Controlled and Guaranteed each batch of wine that the company would market with these certificates.

IGT Wines

IGT is a very broad area of production: it describes the table wines from major wine regions.
Designated the name you can add the color of wines and the name of the vines.
The IGT does not use the names of regions or areas used for the DOC or DOCG
The vine can be mentioned only when the wine area is of significant size.
For example, IGT Lazio product ensures that the wine comes from grapes grown by 85% in the Lazio region, also indicated on the label of any variety (eg Malvasia) ensures that this wine has been made at least 85% by this variety.
Using the IGT status, is therefore on a typical wine recognized as such by the EU
