Le Marche is a region of central Italy with capital Ancona.
Border with Emilia-Romagna, the Republic of San Marino, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Latium and the Adriatic Sea.
Le Marche region of central Italy, is situated on the Adriatic side of the medium and takes 9694 kilometers ² of Italian territory.
Presents a characteristic shape of an irregular pentagon and grows mostly vertically from north to south. The region is mostly hilly, 68.8% of the territory, while the remaining 31.2% is mountainous.
The coastline is characterized by wide sandy beaches, with the exception of Monte Conero, which represents the highest point of shoreline. The other two surveys of the coast are the two hills that surround the city of Pesaro: the San Bartolo hill and the hill dell'Ardizio.
As we proceed toward the interior outlining the hilly, an area that extends for 200 sq km from north to south. The sweetness and grace are the two adjectives that denote the magnificence of this landscape, the human eye can hardly forget.
Apennines in the area you do not notice very high peaks, the highest mountain group is the picturesque chain of Sibillini, between the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Macerata, which the Monte Vettore (2478 m.) master.
Other important mountains of the region are: Monte Nerone (d. 1526), Monte Catria (d. 1702), Monte San Vicino (d. 1479), Monte Pennino (d. 1570), Monte Rotondo (2103 m.), Monte Fema (d. 1575), Monte Prior (d. 2334), Monte Bove (d. 2143), Monte Sibilla (d. 2175), Monte Vallelunga (d. 2221), Monte Porche (d. 2335), Monte Argentella (m . 2201).
The climate is mild with slight changes in temperature from season to season: hot summers, but refreshed by the benevolent breeze, winters with regular rains of the season.
In the mountainous areas cool summers and cold winters with ample opportunity to snow.
The economy is made better by the Marche a thriving small-medium industries, highly specialized evenly distributed throughout its territory, but mainly concentrated in the coast and valleys.
Among the prominent areas we can find: the shoe industry in many centers in the provinces of Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno, Pesaro the furniture industry and mechanical engineering, machinery, molds and wine of the Castelli di Jesi, home of the Verdicchio , the largest shipbuilding industry of Fano and Ancona; industry appliances Fabriano and then the tourists, every year more and more prosperous thanks to the many beach resorts and art, which attract many tourists from Italy and Europe.
